Pacific Northwest Trek Itinerary

Travel along the pristine coast of Washington and up the snow-capped peaks of Oregon.

 

Kids in Huddle DAYS 1-3: BASE CAMP

Spend three days with the entire Adamah Adventures community: getting to know each other, playing team building games, learning outdoor skills and wilderness first aid, and joining in camp-wide activities.  The opening games of the summer's Trek Challenge will get you excited for the adventures ahead.

 

DAY 4: TRAVEL TO SEATTLE AND TO MOUNT RANIER

You'll leave base camp early in the morning to fly from Atlanta to Seattle, and then travel on to Mount Ranier National Park

 

Mount Rainier DAY 5: HIKING IN MOUNT RAINIER NATIONAL PARK, WA

At 14,411 feet, Mount Rainier is the highest mountain in Washington, and the most prominent mountain in the continental United States!  You'll enjoy spectacular views of glaciers, lakes, meadows, and more as you hike through several sections of the park.

 

Rafting DAY 6: WHITEWATER RAFTING ON THE WHITE SALMON RIVER NEAR HUSUM, WA

Rafting the White Salmon River is one of the best-kept recreation secrets of the northwest! This river offers some of the best class III-IV rapids around. The river cuts its way through beautiful, constricted and heavily forested gorges. The water is crystal-clear, the weather is fabulous and rapids are big and numerous!  You'll end the day with the optional Class V Husum Falls.

 

Rock Climbing DAY 7: ROCK CLIMBING IN SMITH ROCK STATE PARK, TERREBONNE, OR

Smith Rock State Park is world-famous for its sheer cliffs of tuff and basalt, ideal for rock climbing of all experience levels.  Professional guides will setup routes appropriate for your climbing ability, and give you the chance to push yourself to new heights.

 

Rafting on the Deschutes RiverDAY 8: WHITEWATER RAFTING ON THE DESCHUTES RIVER NEAR MAUPIN, OR 

The Deschutes River originates high in the Cascade mountains from Little Lava Lake. The river carves its path through 250 miles of eastern Oregon before flowing into the Columbia. The lower river offers a beautiful desert canyon filled with sage brush, osprey, incredible basalt rock formations and plenty of exciting rapids.  Some of the exciting rapids that you will run are Wapinita, Boxcar, Surf City, Oak Springs, White River and elevator rapids.

 

Mount Hood DAY 9: TRAVEL TO MT HOOD NATIONAL FOREST

On Friday, you’ll travel to base of Mount Hood.  We'll explore Timberline Lodge, where climbers begin their ascent of the Mount Hood summit, and then head to our Shabbat campsite at Lost Lake Resort, 3,140 feet up the slopes of Mt. Hood. 

DAY 10: SHABBAT CELEBRATION AT LOST LAKE RESORT, OR

Spend a relaxing day swimming, boating, or just soaking up the incredible views of Mount Hood.  You’ll get recharged and ready for another full week of adventure!

Starfish DAY 11: OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK

After a restful Shabbat, we’ll drive up to Olympic National Park on the Washington Coast. Our drive will take us along the Columbia River Gorge, where we’ll stop for lunch at Multnomah Falls, the second highest year-round waterfall in the US. We'll be able to see the ocean from our beach-side campsite!

 

Ferry DAY 12: HIKING IN OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK, WA

You’ll put on your boots for the day, and check out two distinct ecosystems in Olympic National Park.  First, you’ll head to Rialto Beach for a hike along one of the most pristine beaches in country.  You’ll stop for lunch in Forks, WA (and watch for vampires!).  Enjoy an afternoon soak in the Sol Duc hot springs and then catch a ferry up to the San Juan Islands.

 

Girl kayaking DAYS 13-15: SEA KAYAKING IN THE SAN JUAN ISLANDS, WA

You’ll spend 3 days kayaking in the San Juan Islands.  You’ll be immersed in the islands, paddling, hiking on the coast, and watching for wildlife.  With a little luck, you may even see some orca whales!  You'll spend evenings camping on remote islands, accessible only by boat.

 DAY 16: TRAVEL BACK TO BASE CAMP

 

Shabbat Services DAYS 17 AND 18: BASE CAMP AND CLOSING CEREMONIES

At the very end of the session, the entire Adamah Adventures family will return to Base Camp to celebrate all that has been accomplished. The adventure concludes with a final Shabbat celebration, final games of the Trek Challenge, and closing campfire ceremony.
