Counselor-in-Training Program

The Adamah Adventures CIT Program provides an opportunity for our past campers to be a part of creating the Adamah Adventures experience for our Adventure Campers (5th-6th graders). The CIT program is offered to teens completing grades 11 or 12. CIT’s have the option of working either one or both weeks of our Adventure Camp (see dates below). CIT’s who are going into 11th grade may choose to go on a teen trek in addition to being part of the CIT program!

The program will begin with a short orientation before the beginning of Adventure Camp. CIT’s will help out with many of the behind-the-scenes aspects of camp – helping to set-up, cook, manage the equipment and gear, etc. In addition, CIT’s will be matched with a unit within camp who they will spend some of the week with, participating in adventure activities and leading evening programs.

Our CIT program focuses on developing strong leaders through training and practice. This is a program for teens who are serious about learning to work with children and improving their leadership skills. The most important part of this program is the hands-on experience CIT’s will have in working with campers while being guided by camp staff. Upon completion of the Adamah Adventures CIT program, participants will be better prepared for working with adults, their peers and children. They will also walk away with new friendships and having developed a strong work ethic that they can apply to any leadership experience. CIT’s are expected to abide by all rules and policies of Adamah Adventures as stated in the CIT contract.
