One Week Adventure Camp
Campers who are completing 5th & 6th grades can join us for a week of adventure in the North Georgia mountains. With activities like canoeing, tubing, and waterfall hikes, there's always something new to challenge and excite you.
You'll get a week-long taste of everything that makes Adamah Adventures great: professional staff, rigorous safety standards, exciting activities, delicious food, and a warm, welcoming Jewish community.
Our Location
You'll spend the week based at our beautiful group campsite at Black Rock Mountain State Park. At 3,640 feet above sea-level, Black Rock is Georgia's highest state park. Summertime temperatures are usually quite a bit cooler than other parts of Georgia. Our group campsite is completely separate from the rest of the state park, and is secured with a private gate. The site includes 4 open-air cabins, and a log cabin lodge. Campers completing 5th grade sleep in open-air cabins. Campers completing 6th grade sleep in spacious tents. Most meals are enjoyed outdoors, and in the lodge in the event of rain. The state park also has a scenic lake, perfect for an afternoon swim.
Daily Activities
DAY 1: OPENING DAY
Spend the first afternoon getting to know each other, playing team building games, and going for a swim in the lake. The opening campfire will get you excited for the week ahead!
DAY 2: TUBING ON THE CHATTAHOOCHEE RIVER
What’s the best way to cool off in the heat of summer? Why, “shooting the hooch” of course! Grab your swim wear and an inner tube and follow the Chattahoochee River through the hills and hollows of North Georgia, ending with a scenic float through downtown Helen, GA.
DAY 3: WATERFALL EXPLORATION
Embark on the Georgia and North Carolina Tour de Waterfall and see some of the tallest waterfalls in the entire east coast. Waterfalls include Glen Falls, Holcomb Falls, Ammon Falls and the tallest at 411 feet: Whitewater Falls. Which one will be your favorite?
DAY 4: ROCK CLIMBING ON MOUNT YONAH
There's nothing quite like the feeling of accomplishment you get when you reach the top of a climb. The professional guides from Granite Arches will teach you the basics of rock climbing in the outdoors: movement on rock, knots, belay and rappel techniques. Whether you've been climbing your whole life, or the most climbing you've done is up the stairs, there will be something to challenge you.
DAY 5: CANOEING ON THE CHESTATEE RIVER
The Chestatee River winds 50 miles through the North Georgia mountains. It’s beautiful, tranquil waters are a great way to see Georgia’s native wildlife, from the comfort of your canoe. Your trip takes you 6 miles downstream with gently rapids and great scenery.
DAY 6: SHABBAT CELEBRATION
Shabbat is a time for rest, relaxation, and celebration. Campers will come together to create a meaningful, communal experience. Our closing campfire will celebrate the individual and group achievements of the week.
