2011 Staff Update

IMG_2047.JPG        I’m sure by now you’re all wondering what the 2011 Adamah Adventures staff have been up to since camp ended. Being that we all work for an outdoor adventure camp, many of us chose to participate in outdoor adventure activities while on vacation. Here’s a quick run down on what everyone has been doing.

Adam & Bobbee took a 14-day trip to Spain and Portugal, where they travelled through the two countries’ scenic landscape. The highlight of their trip was hiking amongst the Picos de Europa (the Peaks of Europe). The Picos are a range of mountains located 20 km inland from the northern coast of Spain. They chose to hike the Ruta del Cares route, a strenuous 12-mile hike that weaved them past waterfalls, canals, stone tunnels, aMoran.jpgnd mile-deep gorges.

Moran spent the two months after camp travelling around the western United States. He   visited Zion, Bryce Canyon, Yosemite, Grand Teton, and Yellowstone National Parks; in addition to Las Vegas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Disneyland along the way. Wow, what an adventure.

Josh (aka Papa Bear) has been busy recruiting for the Adamah Adventures 2012 season. Of course, he had some time to play before settling in on the recruitment tour. His adventure took him on the Green River in southern Utah for an 8-day raft on one of the wildest rivers this country has to offer.

Molly is back in rabbinical school in Los Angeles for another fun-filled year. She says her post-camp adventures include having sushi with Hendo and going to the LA county fair. That does sound pretty adventurous!

Lauren (aka Hendo) finished up one semester of rabbinical school in LA and has now moved to New York City for her spring semester. She’s busy getting acquainted with the Big Apple. You can follow her adventures and experiences on her blog at: http://liorarivka.wordpress.com/

Dori started a new chapter in her life after camp: graduate school! She said her favorite post-camp adventure activity was hiking up a really cool mountain in Woodstock, NY.

Doug (aka Dougie-Fresh) made the move from the great state of Kansas to the even greater state of Colorado. When he’s not bagging 14-foot peaks, he’s designing and selling t-shirts. Check out his designs at: https://www.facebook.com/pages/DougieDesigns/270649929620812

Brian is finishing up his final year of rabbinical school in New York City. He’s on the job market; so if you need a Rabbi in your neck of the woods, give him a call! When’s he’s not studying, he’s busy biking and hiking around town.

Lauren (LB)’s job at Emory University’s Hillel went from part-time to full-time after camp. She’s busy programming and hanging out with Hillel students. She also volunteers with BBYO in the greater Atlanta area and plays guitar with her band, Black Jerusalem.

That’s the update folks! I think our 2011 staff did some pretty cool things after camp. Stay tuned for the announcement of our 2012 Adamah Adventures staff.
