Structure
The Adamah Adventure begins as Jewish teens from around the region arrive at Base Camp near Atlanta for team building games; outdoor skills and wilderness first aid training; goal setting and community building; and a Shabbat celebration with the entire Adamah Adventures family.
Teens are then divided into smaller trek groups of 10 to 12 campers along with two experienced Adamah Adventures staff. They set out on their trek to either the Blue Ridge Mountains in Northern Georgia and Tennessee, or they head to the airport to fly out to Utah.
Each trek includes a variety of outdoor activities -- hiking, climbing, and rafting – along with plenty of time to relax, swim or just hang out together. Most nights are spent at campsites, with campers and staff cooking and eating together. Often there is music, stories, and discussion.
At the end of the trek, the Adamah Adventure family returns to Base Camp to celebrate, as one community, all that has been accomplished – individually and collectively. The adventure concludes with a final Shabbat celebration and closing campfire.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What if my teen has never camped before? A. Then Adamah Adventures will be a wonderful introduction to the excitement of being outdoors. To prepare our campers, each teen begins their trek with two days of basic wilderness training at Base Camp. Here they will learn some of the basics, such as how to set up a tent and start a campfire. The campers are then placed in small trek groups (10-12 teens) that are guided by two experienced Adamah Adventure staff. The small groups allow each teen the chance to help others and to be helped in return.
- Where will my teen be sleeping? A. While at Base Camp, teens sleep on bunk beds in air-conditioned dorm rooms. On the trek, our campers will be sleeping in tents at campsites in state and national parks. On occasion, teens will stay in lodges or cabins.
- Do parents drive the campers to Base Camp? And pick them up there? A. Yes, our Base Camp is 60 miles from Atlanta. Session start and end times, as well as driving directions to Base Camp are included in the parent handbook that will be mailed in the spring.
- Do you provide transportation to and from the airport? A. Absolutely. If your child is flying to Atlanta, our staff will meet them at their gate upon arrival and take them to Base Camp. Please speak with one of our staff members prior to booking your flights.
