Jewish Life
At Adamah Adventures, you will experience Judaism in a unique way. There will be countless opportunities to expore our vibrant culture and traditions while taking part in our outdoor adventure experience. Away from cell phones and computers, we can truly focus on the beauty around us.
Each week culminates with a Shabbat celebration in some of the most beautiful parts of the country. After a busy week of intense activities, rest takes on a whole new meaning. It's time to take a hot shower, put on clean clothes, and gather to share a great meal and celebrate our traditions under the stars. Whether it's Israeli pop music, matzoh ball soup, or lighting candles, Adamah Adventures will give you a chance to deepen your Jewish identity.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What if my teen doesn’t read/know Hebrew? A. No problem. Teens can still be actively involved in all of our rituals, discussions and celebrations without knowing any Hebrew. Much of what we do is in English and knowledge of Hebrew is not necessary.
- Will there be daily services? A. While we do not have formal daily services, prayer is a part of our daily routine. We recite blessings of thanksgiving before and after our meals, and take time for personal and group reflection. Depending on what we experience during each day, we may say a prayer after seeing a rainbow or summiting a mountain, or recite Sh’ma during a sunrise hike.
- Do campers have to be Jewish? A. Judaism is an integral part of our program and daily routine. Campers do not have to be Jewish, but should be open to being part of a Jewish community.
